HMRC is targeting fraud...

Are you tax resident in the UK but have additional income abroad? You must pay tax in both countries.

If you have - more or less knowingly - compromised your tax integrity, call us before HMRC gets to you first.

What is a Tax Disclosure?

In simplest terms, it is a voluntary process where you notify HMRC that you have irregularities in your tax affairs that led to unpaid tax. Although it sounds quite bad, the results will do you a lot of good.

The whole process, from reviewing the irregularities to settling with HMRC, takes around 6 months. We treat each case individually and fight for the lowest possible penalty or for HMRC not to impose a fine at all.

What are the most common reasons for Tax Disclosure?

Poorly managed tax returns, e.g. an incompetent accountant, or if you do it yourself, lack of knowledge and access to the latest tax regulations.

Few people are also aware that if you are resident in the UK for tax purposes and earn additional income abroad, you should pay tax in both countries (and reclaim the overpaid tax in the UK).

Remember that every source of income is important. Even if you receive a monthly PAYE payslip with your earnings, money coming from, for example, a house rental in Spain will count for your tax return. Also bear in mind selling assets and money transfers.

Whatever the reason, we'll take as much time as you need to sort out your affairs with Polish and UK tax authorities.

How will we complete your Tax Disclosure?
  • You authorise TaxOne in writing to act in your case.

  • We notify HMRC by letter that we will be completing the Disclosure on your behalf - from then on HMRC cannot start an inspection.

  • We calculate the actual amount of tax you owe.

  • Citing tax law, we send an offer with proposed repayment of your debts to HMRC. We have 3 months from our initial contact with HMRC to do this.

  • We respond on your behalf to any queries from HMRC.

  • HMRC accepts our offer or makes their own and closes the case.

The whole process takes around 6 months - once the offer to repay your debts is accepted and the case is closed, HMRC can never revisit it again.

What will you gain?
  • We will look after your money with as much care as we give to our own

  • You will get peace of mind - you can be confident that all formalities will be completed on time and all will be correct with your taxes – so you can focus on earning money

  • You will save time - you will not have to waste hours tackling paperwork and software but will have more time for your business and your family.
